Intelligent Ultrasound Launches BodyWorks Eve 4.5

12th September 2023, Cardiff, UK: Intelligent Ultrasound (IU) today announced the launch of BodyWorks Eve 4.5. The latest version of IU’s female patient simulator includes 10 new high value cases within the lung and gastric regions, as well as improvements to the custom patient lists to deliver increased flexibility for trainees and tutors.

BodyWorks Eve is an ultra-realistic female patient simulator for interactive Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) scenario training. Designed to meet the training needs of healthcare professionals who practice PoCUS in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, today Eve is used by more than 300 institutions across the world to access over 100 real patient scans and 10,000 pathology variations across cardiac, lung, transabdominal and pelvic ultrasound and – combined with HeartWorks TEE and TTE  – a comprehensive education in cardiac anatomy and echocardiography.

Good news for existing and new customers  – IU continues to invest in and develop Eve. The latest BodyWorks update, version 4.5, offers 10 new high value cases within the lung and gastric regions and improvements to the customer patient list to deliver increased flexibility for trainees and tutors.

In relation to the lung, IU has worked with pleural disease experts to increase respiratory training opportunities and in turn patient safety. Six new cases which include septated lung, empyema, plueral nodule, diaphragm nodule, pleural effusion and thickened pleura, will provide trainees with a structured approach to learning and access to nine new types of pathology (up to eighteen if you consider varying severity and location) on demand.

Four new gastric cases have also been added: empty stomach, full stomach with fluid, full stomach with solids and insignificant fluid.

Improvements don’t stop at the new cases. Updates to the custom patient lists provide increased flexibility for trainees and tutors. Using version 4.5 tutors can add multiple choice and image capturing questions to Custom Patient Exams and view/download all results in the User Summary page.

Body Works Eve is available across all regions now. Existing customers can contact IU to arrange an upgrade to the latest version. New customers will receive version 4.5 as standard from today.
