MedaPhor wins first ScanTrainer customer in India

MedaPhor Group plc is pleased to announce its first ScanTrainer sales in India. Indira IVF, a leading group of private fertility clinics in India, has purchased three ScanTrainer Transvaginal training simulators to meet the growing ultrasound training demands of its 80 clinicians and 90 embryologists across its 22 fertility centres across India.

The group plans to double its clinician numbers and centres over the next two years and in turn, intends to use the ScanTrainer training simulators and their associated cloud-based services to support the subsequent growth in ultrasound training demands.

These cloud-based services include:

  • Scan Trainer Cloud, which enables customers such as Indira IVF to upload their own patient scans to create bespoke educational lessons, as well as build regional, national or global practical examinations of their trainees’ scanning skills
  • ScanTrainer Examine, a growing library of over 500 common and rare pathology patient cases, as well as a comprehensive range of diagnostic examinations

Dr. Kshitiz Murdia, Medical Director at Indira IVF, commented: “Ultrasound forms an integral part of our patient consultation and diagnosis process. In the past we have faced challenges when it comes to training on live patients, and ScanTrainer offers us a true-to-life, self-directed learning solution for our clinicians to acquire the ultrasound skills they need and grow their confidence in transvaginal scanning.”

Craig Henshaw, VP International Sales at MedaPhor, commented: “Indira IVF is a pioneer in the fertility space in India. Committed to providing positive outcomes for its patients and the use of ultrasound as a diagnostic modality has been recognised as key to this. We believe ScanTrainer’s unique self-learning, real-time skills assessment modules and cloud-based services will revolutionise the way Indira IVF trains its doctors. As a company, MedaPhor now has recognition for both ScanTrainer and HeartWorks within the growing Indian market which is an exciting opportunity to have an impact on ultrasound education in the country.”
