Senior Graphics Software Engineer

Use your Graphics Engineering skills to make the world a better place!  We need you to help us create innovative healthcare-education solutions, specifically developing our ultrasound simulation software to improve outcomes for millions of people worldwide. We want a creative individual to work alongside a small and skilled team to improve the simulation and learning experience we provide in ultrasound.

Your role will involve:

  • Using your expertise to help make the platform more streamlined, engaging, and fun for users.
  • Designing and implementing solutions to a broad range of technical problems both on your own and with your team.
  • Improving the visuals of the ultrasound simulation in the main application, shader, and tools for asset creation.
  • Optimising the current software and improving user experience.
  • Promoting our collaborative team culture, operating across technical boundaries to be both results driven, and development focussed.
  • Updating the content on the Learning Management system.
  • Supporting wider projects within the Research and Development team, experimenting with AI led solutions.

The requirements for this role are:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Very good knowledge of C++
  • Experience of leading projects
  • Adept with OpenGL, real-time graphics, VS/Windows Dev

Prior medical knowledge isn’t necessary for the role. Candidates will likely have come from a games/film industry and must have a strong background in real-time graphics.

Project Co-ordinator

Use your fantastic project co-ordination skills to make the world a better place.  We need you to join our friendly team to help us to ensure that our projects are completed on time, within budget and meet our high quality standards.

We want a co-ordinator with hands-on experience in a range of tasks within project management to join our team in Cardiff.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with both the Head of R & D and Product Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects.
  • Performing various co-ordinating tasks, including schedule and risk management.
  • Undertaking various administrative duties, such as maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries.
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Previous experience in project management, from conception to delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • An ability to work on your own initiative.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.

Visual Content Designer

Use your graphic design skills to make the world a better place.

We need you to join our friendly team to help us to develop virtual reality simulations for ultrasound education. You will be a highly motivated and passionate individual, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. The role itself will be varied and interesting.  You will fulfil the traditional digital content developer role, offering support to our marketing team in the creation of various types of marketing materials. You will also expand your experience with 3D Modelling, updating, and developing 3D anatomy models using tools such as Maya and Blender.

The successful candidate will preferably be degree educated (or have an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject) and have real-life practical experience using similar technologies, although specific industry experience is not required.

You will be responsible for:

  • Following detailed briefs, updating existing and designing new literature for both clients and users alike.
  • The design and production of in-house marketing materials.
  • The maintenance and update of graphic designs for GUIs, and manual or video user guides.
  • The design and development of 3D images using techniques such as rota scoping and image sequencing.
  • The utilisation of 3D modelling software (Maya and Blender) to create 3D textures.   Training can be provided in these.
  • Testing your development output regarding the 3D modelling simulation.
  • Critiquing both your own work and that of the wider team. Supporting your team to ensure work is effectively managed and delivered to time and quality.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Proficiency in Adobe suite, such as Photoshop, After Effects and Adobe Illustrate.
  • Experience in using 3D Modelling software, preferable Maya or Blender. Training can be provided.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office suite.
  • The ability to work to timelines whilst ensuring quality criteria are rigorously applied.
  • Being comfortable working on own initiative or as a team player, as appropriate.
  • The capability to critique your own work and that of peers, providing constructive and timely feedback.
  • A willingness to help the wider team where required.

Clinical Applications Specialist

Use your clinical applications experience to make the world a better place.  We need you to help us provide innovative healthcare solutions, specifically through the delivery of highly effective demonstrations of our clinical software to improve outcomes for millions of people worldwide.

We want a specialist with experience in a clinical setting as a Sonographer or as an Application Specialist to join our team and provide clinical and product application support to our UK, European and Rest of the World (excluding North America) customers, resellers and Business Development Managers.

You will be responsible for:

  • delivering remote and face to face demonstrations and clinical input to our customers and resellers as part of the sales process.
  • the creation of application support and training material, in conjunction with product management, to ensure the highest quality of product knowledge in our direct and reseller sales teams.
  • developing and implementing systems training curriculums that will be used by both end user customers and internal staff.
  • providing clinical support at workshops and conference/exhibitions as required.
  • providing systems training to Intelligent Ultrasound customers as needed.
  • providing remote customer application support as appropriate.
  • supporting clinical societies (ISUOG, BSE etc.) to ensure that our products are part of their training and accreditation.

The requirements for this role are:

  • to have a minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical setting as a Sonographer or as an Application Specialist within a mainstream ultrasound equipment manufacturer.
  • to possess a recognized or registered sonography or ultrasound qualification, ideally with OB/GYN, Cardiac and General Medical specialisation.
  • a strong ability to teach difficult ultrasound concepts to end users
  • to possess highly developed interpersonal skills and organisational skills.
  • to be strongly motivated to achieve in a results-based organisation.
  • to be technically comfortable with sophisticated technologies as applied to ultrasound or simulation systems.
  • the ability to work unsupervised with direction from the sales managers.
  • to be proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint
  • to possess a clean driver’s license and be an English speak (2nd language a plus)
  • to be willing and able to travel to Europe as and when required.

AI Leader

Use your deep learning skills to make the world a better place.  We need you to help us deliver innovative healthcare solutions, specifically developing our AI led ultrasound solutions to improve outcomes for millions of people worldwide.

We want a specialist in deep learning to act as a mentor to our team of skilled engineers.  You will be a design authority on machine learning, working on new R&D projects within ultrasound imaging.  You will work with Prof. Alison Noble FRS, a founder of Intelligent Ultrasound and technical consultant to the company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing practical solutions to hard-to-solve development tasks both in model training and in production code.
  • Keeping up to date with and disseminating the latest research and techniques in image based machine learning (in conjunction with Prof. Noble).
  • Supporting other engineers in their application of machine learning.
  • Making decisions on network topologies and machine learning strategies.
  • Working with our clinical team on the definition of achievable product functionality and data requirements.

The requirements for this role are:

  • A minimum of four years’ experience in applied machine learning either within academia (with an impressive academic publication record) or with relevant industrial experience (and demonstrable track record through commercialisation).
  • Able to choose most appropriate machine learning technique to solve a real-work image analysis problem.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest deep learning techniques for image analysis.
  • Good mentor: able to explain concepts clearly and succinctly.
  • Strong communication skills.

Candidates will ideally have previous experience of machine learning for medical imaging.

Software Team Leader

Use your leadership skills to make the world a better place. We need you to help us to deliver innovative healthcare solutions, specifically developing our AI led ultrasound solutions to improve outcomes for millions of people worldwide.

We want a team leader to coach and develop a small team of skilled engineers, developing machine-learning models that improve ultrasound imaging.

You will be responsible for:

• The management of the product development lifecycle, from specification through to product testing.
• Project planning for new activities, including the coordination of complex development plans.
• The identification and management of project risks. The completion of risk assessments.
• Promoting our collaborative team culture, operating across technical boundaries to be both results driven and development focussed.

The requirements for this role are:

• A minimum of four years’ experience in leading a product development team from concept to commercial implementation.
• Your previous background will be as a highly numerate software engineer or software product manager.
• The ability to demonstrate that you have met commercial deadlines and can define and deal with project risk.

Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team is essential, as are strong software project management skills, strong team management skills, and good communication and documentation skills.

Candidates will ideally have experience of machine learning or computer vision, medical device development, and/or a background in a medical, scientific, or healthcare-related industry.
